Terms of Service

Vitaebase is provided by Fabio Hausmann, Rotdornallee 5, 28717 Bremen, Germany ("Vitaebase", "we", "us") — see our Impressum for full contact details. Vitaebase is currently operated as a private individual; a formal trade registration will be completed once Vitaebase has paying customers.

The research map, topic and study pages, search, and browsing the evidence base are free to use and don't require an account. Suggesting a topic or feature, and voting on suggestions, is also free and doesn't require an account.

Some features — saving topics and studies, notes, collections, research alerts and Premium — require an account, created with an email and password or via Google sign-in. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You can permanently delete your account at any time from your profile.

Vitaebase Premium is available on two plans:

• €4.99 / month, billed monthly.
• €49.99 / year, billed yearly.

New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to start the trial, but you won't be charged until it ends. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically renews and you're charged the plan price at the start of each billing period, until you cancel.

Billing is handled by Stripe. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from your profile via the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals — you keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Vitaebase AI is a Premium feature, limited to a set number of questions per day (shown to you in the product). It generates answers using an AI model, grounded in Vitaebase's own database of studies and topics and, if you've completed one, your health profile. Answers are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a person before you see them — they can be incomplete or wrong. Vitaebase AI never provides a diagnosis and will decline to interpret symptoms; nothing it tells you is medical advice, and it doesn't replace talking to a qualified healthcare professional.

Under the Vitaebase Founding Sponsor program, anyone with an account can pay, via Stripe, for their content to appear as a paid placement on a topic page for a fixed duration. Placements are reviewed before and during the campaign and must stay genuinely relevant to the topic they're placed on — we may reject, remove or refuse to renew a placement that isn't, without a refund of the time already run. Outside of that, if you're unhappy with a placement, contact us and we'll look at a refund on a case-by-case basis.

Vitaebase presents evidence, impact and study information drawn from published scientific research for informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, and Vitaebase does not recommend or endorse any specific treatment, supplement or lifestyle change. Always talk to a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your health.

Please don't misuse Vitaebase — for example, by attempting to disrupt the service, abuse the suggestion, voting or Vitaebase AI systems, or access data that isn't yours. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

The Vitaebase name, logo and interface belong to Vitaebase. The underlying research referenced on Vitaebase remains the property of its original authors and publishers.

Vitaebase is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Vitaebase is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you're a consumer, this choice of law doesn't deprive you of any protection you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence. Where legally permitted, the courts of Bremen, Germany have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms.

We may update these terms as Vitaebase changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use Vitaebase after a change means you accept the updated terms.
