Privacy Policy

Vitaebase is provided by Fabio Hausmann, Rotdornallee 5, 28717 Bremen, Germany ("Vitaebase", "we", "us") — see our Impressum for full contact details. This policy applies to everyone who uses vitaebase.com, whether or not you create an account.

The research map, topic and study pages, search, and browsing the evidence base are all available without creating an account. Submitting a topic or feature suggestion, or upvoting one, also doesn't require an account — in that case we use a temporary, anonymous session identifier (created via our authentication provider) instead of any personal information, just to prevent duplicate votes.

Writing to us through our contact page doesn't require an account either. The name, email address and message you enter are sent to us as an email (via our email delivery provider, Resend) so we can reply — they aren't stored in our database.

Creating a Vitaebase account is required for Premium features. We store:

• Your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the name and profile picture Google shares with us.
• Content you create: your watchlist, saved studies, personal notes and pins on them, research collections, your research alert preferences and the update notifications generated for you, your Vitaebase AI conversation history, and a short history of items you've recently viewed. You can delete individual Vitaebase AI conversations yourself at any time.
• If you subscribe to Premium, or purchase a topic ad placement as a research sponsor: your plan or placement details, trial and billing period dates, and subscription or order status.
• Optionally, if you choose to complete your health profile: age, biological sex, height and weight, exercise/diet/sleep habits, and any conditions you choose to share. This is entirely voluntary, skippable at any point, and used only to personalize your Research AI answers and score insights — never shown to any other user. Generating those personalized answers and insights means this data (along with your question, Longevity Score and current stack, where relevant) is sent to our AI provider, Google, as part of that single request — see "Services we use" below.

Premium subscriptions, and one-time topic ad placements (for research sponsors), are billed through Stripe, our payment processor. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's checkout and are never seen or stored by Vitaebase — we only store the resulting subscription or order status, plan or placement details, billing dates, and the Stripe identifiers needed to manage them. Your email address is shared with Stripe to create your billing profile.

Vitaebase does not use advertising cookies or any third-party analytics or tracking scripts. Our authentication provider stores your session in your browser's local storage so you stay signed in between visits. If you pick a Premium plan before signing up, it's held briefly in your browser's session storage so you land back on checkout after creating your account.

We run our own first-party, privacy-conscious page view counter: a randomly generated identifier is stored in your browser's local storage to distinguish visits, and each page view logs the page path and referrer (and your account, if you're signed in). This data never leaves our own database, is used only to understand overall traffic and never to identify or target you individually, and is visible only to the site owner.

While you're browsing, we also record an approximate location (country and city, derived from our hosting provider's request routing — never your exact address, and never your IP address itself) so the site owner can see roughly where visitors are browsing from in real time. This, too, is visible only to the site owner. The live view itself drops an inactive visitor after a couple of minutes, but the underlying record is kept for up to 167 days — used for nothing beyond that real-time view in the meantime — before being automatically and permanently deleted.

The following third parties process data on our behalf, only as needed to run Vitaebase:

• Supabase — database hosting and account authentication.
• Stripe — Premium subscription and ad placement payments and billing.
• Google — optional sign-in, if you choose to use it.
• Google (Gemini) — generates Vitaebase AI's answers and your personalized score insights. Your question and, where relevant, your health profile, Longevity Score and current stack are sent to it as part of that single request; Google does not receive your name or email address through this.
• Resend — delivers account, billing and contact-form emails on our behalf.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• jsDelivr — a content delivery network our server fetches emoji graphics from when generating the preview images (OG cards) shown when a Vitaebase link, including your own score card, is shared; no personal data is sent to it.

Study citations and topic pages link out to the original research on sites like PubMed, DOI.org and journal publishers, and our footer links to our own social accounts. Vitaebase isn't responsible for the content or privacy practices of those external sites — check their own policies before sharing anything with them.

You can permanently delete your account at any time from your profile. This immediately removes your login credentials along with your watchlist, saved studies, notes, collections, Vitaebase AI conversation history, recently viewed history, alert settings and health profile (if you completed one), and cancels your Premium subscription if you have one. Any topic or feature suggestion you submitted stays visible on the public suggestions board but is no longer linked to your account.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to how it's processed. You can exercise most of this yourself from your profile, or reach out via our contact page.

We may update this policy as Vitaebase changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
